Meet the Owner- Leif Anderson

A native son of Plymouth, NH, studio owner and tattoo artist Leif Anderson has been creating works of art for as long as he can remember.  Born into a creative family, he started drawing as a toddler, and never stopped.  Leif's interest in tattooing began in 1996, as he watched friends get their first tattoos, some of which he designed.  In 2000, the idea of becoming a tattoo artist himself took hold after Leif watched in horror as an artist butchered one of his designs on the skin of a friend.  He was mortified, and swore an oath to himself right then and there that one day he would be the only one tattooing his designs.  Years later, after earning a degree in Television and Radio Broadcasting, and making forays into various industries unrelated to art, Leif completed a tattoo apprenticeship at a well established studio in Southern NH.   He was licensed as a Body Art Practitioner in the State of New Hampshire in 2010.  In 2012, after working in two tattoo shops in Southern NH for just long enough to become disgusted with their egos, attitudes, standards and practices, Leif moved back to his hometown of Plymouth, and started Gunslinger Tattoo Co. as a small private tattoo studio, dedicated to high quality custom body art.

Client satisfaction has been, and always will be, Leif’s primary focus, and the backbone of the philosophy which drives Gunslinger Tattoo Co.  He is committed to providing a clean, comfortable, welcoming, and open-minded environment for his clients, and he treats every person who comes through the door with kindness, patience, and respect.  He truly feels grateful and honored each and every time a person entrusts him with their skin, and his goal is not just to provide a well-done tattoo, but to ensure that the experience as a whole will be remembered fondly.

Leif has cultivated his own unique and distinctive artistic style over the course of his life, always with tattooing in mind.  He prefers to work with clients who enjoy his personal tattoo art style, embrace artistic freedom, and share in the idea that each tattoo should be an expression unique to the individual who wears it. Leif is open to any project idea, but he gravitates toward predominantly black, or black and grey work, at times accented by a minimalist approach to color. He has a particular affinity for nature and science themes, line and dot work, and layered abstract/surrealist landscape depictions.  His primary focus now is centered around larger freehand artwork designed directly on the body, and projects of that type will always be prioritized. If you are into the idea of letting his mind explode upon your skin, you’re just the kind of client he is looking for!
